Complete set, kinda short but totally awesome. It's great to see Jon and Juan jam so heavy so close. sorry if the footage is a bit shaky for your taste, it's hard to keep things still when every one is rocking out. I think things turned out well though.

Bonnaroo, Manchester, TN, 6/12/2009 (Acoustic Set)
1. Church Mouth
2. The Sun
3. 1989/Our Way
4. Colors
5. People Say
6. And I

Notes:
1st set notes:
First of two sets by Portugal. The Man. I was ultra pumped to see them, I had listened to them religiously in Year 10 and the only way I got to see them was by travelling to buttfuck Tennessee. To be honest, they kinda dissappointed. The sound in the tent was bad, it had just began to monsoon so everyone was piled into the tent and honestly, when these guys released their first album, they were criticised as being a crappy Mars Volta knock-off, it seems like everyones forgotten this except the band who are trying their hardest to be a crappy Mars Volta knock-off. Jamming on the song that got me into you in the first place to prove you have soul without playing a note from the original song was heart breaking. Still, I left satisfied at least.
2nd set notes:
Portugal. The Man’s first ever acoustic set. I enjoyed this a lot more than the previous night. They were on a much much smaller stage and the atmosphere was just right, the first bit of sunshine we had gotten the festival when they came on. It of course being an acoustic set, the crowd is extremely loud compared to the music so this recording is peaksville when there is cheering. There’s a few new songs in this one as well.

This band quickly became one of my favorite bands. I suggest you get into some studio stuff before you hear a bootleg. Church Mouth is the the most hard-rocking album they have, blues-based done really well. Their music style decreases in heaviness and leans more towards the Indie scene as the years progressed, but live they always will be heavy and jam out the songs. I really like how they medley the songs on this recording, and how they go into Bellies Are Full. They make things interesting. If you haven't heard this band, I highly recommend them.

Original notes by a_doubt:
I enjoyed the Paradiso show very much and wanted to create some sort of souvenir. Fortunately there were a lot of people who recorded video and kindly shared them - thank you. So I spent some days on sync'ing the video bits with the audio I recorded.

I'm pretty sure that 2 shows of the European tour leg were filmed, most probably completely. So hopefully there's a chance of (a) DVD(s) in the future. The video clips I edited could help to bridge the time gap until a DVD will be released.

This project was quite an instructive experience, but I enjoyed it. Don't expect HD or anything outstanding, nevertheless the clips are enjoyable IMO and I managed to mix angles for a few songs. The sync'ing and mixing was done track by track, so the audio is not fading in or out (apart from the first and the last track). Because of the resolution of the videos I decided to create and upload AVI files:
Video is DivX 5.0, 640 × 480, 29.97 fps, and audio is MPEG Layer-3 Audio stereo, 44.1 kHz. You can play the files with any common player program, for example QuickTime Player, VLC media player and MPEG streamclip.

Thanks again to all the nice people sharing their videos (and photos as well, there are some slide shows when I did not have complete video for a song).

It's a decent '09 start-of-tour show. a_doubt did a great job at putting this whole thing together and I'm pleased to say that it turned out more enjoyable than I originally thought. It's definitely the best of the 2009 bootlegs so far and will stay that way for a while.

Notes:
This was an absolute pain in the ass to split into tracks for a number of reasons.
1. I don't know their songs too well.
2. They jam a lot so I wasn't sure which bits were part of a song.
3. It's hard to understand what Cedric's singing, making it hard to google lyrics for song titles.
4. I read somewhere that they don't change their setlist throughout a tour. I used the Sydney setlist as a staring point and they did play a few different songs.

I hope I got the splits and track names right. Please let me know if anything's wrong as I am a bit of a perfectionist.

The overall volume was increased by 6db. No other changes were made.

Do not sell this recording. Do not convert to MP3 or other lossy formats unless it's for personal use.

Record Notes: Recorded from stereo mics clipped to hat 6 ft. from the ground spaced 6 inches apart.
The show was recorded about 80 ft back from stage in the right balcony in the audience. My iRiver
record level was set to 2 and my volume input level on my battery box at 75%.

Show Notes: They started off with no opener. The crowd cheered in anticipation when they heard
the Fistfull anthem. They played mostly new songs in the beginning of the show. The songs sounded
good, as I have not heard the new unreleased album yet like much of the crowd obviously had. The
crowd new the new songs. Omar had a bit of tech trouble a few times during the show. It really cut
in to the drawn-out jam feel of their typical style show. Track No. 9 off of disc 1 was one of the
better songs from the new Amputechture album.

Once again, the recording will hopefully fill you in. Anyway the show was good and it
sounds great, it was an excellent venue for recording and I hope you enjoy it!

This is one of my favorite Volta shows. It's one of those unusual '06 setlists with Asilos and Frances. The ending jam (Goliath omega coda) will leave you satisfied.
